Female Beer Brewers Collaborate in GJ
KREX News Room
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Female beer brewers from around Colorado came together on Sunday for a beer collaboration.
The women worked side-by-side at the Kannah Creek Brewing Company, creating a seven barrel batch of a Cherry Blossom Saison. They choose to use blossoms in honor of Arbor Day.
This is only the second all-female collaboration brew to be held in Colorado.
Emma Faulkner, a brewer at Kannah Creek Brewing Company, said, "I encourage women to not be intimidated by the male-dominated industry. We're just as strong and we can carry kegs just as well. And it's a craft and a science and women have great attention to detail, and that makes them great brewers."
The collaboration beer, which has yet to be named, will be ready about two weeks after the brewing season. The batch will be kegged and tapped at each participating brewer's brewery during American Craft Beer Week, May 13-19.
