Father and Son Found With 49 Pounds of Pot

Mesa County - A father and son face a number of charges after an officer discovered 49 pounds of marijuana in their vehicle. 32-year-old Dionel Gutierrez and his father, 57-year-old Oscar Gutierrez, were arrested on I-70 near Mack when a Drug Task Force deputy noticed their SUV drifting on to the shoulder repeatedly.

The men consented to a search of their vehicle, when a drug-detection dog alerted the officer to the bed rail area. That's where an estimated, $125,000 worth of marijuana was found.

The duo claim they were traveling from Phoenix to Minnesota to find work. They're currently being held at the Mesa County Jail.

Don't need to consent. If a dog hits on your stash, you are done.

I wonder which dispensary the load was headed for or maybe it wasn’t headed to a dispensary at all. Maybe the Father and son team bought it at a dispensary going out of business sale in CA. Which way were these guys headed again? Toward Palisade? Maybe they heard about another bargain pot buy in that direction coming soon.

Imagine that. Pot that was not sold from a dispensary. I heard all pot came from dispensaries. Guess someone has been lying to us.
