GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo.- Colorado State Patrol says one person is dead after a collision involving two motorcycles.

The crash happened just before 1:30 Sunday afternoon on Highway 135 at mile post 25, just south of Crested Butte.

Authorities say a chopper and Harley Davidson were traveling northbound on Highway 135 when the chopper made an abrupt turn, colliding with the Harley Davidson.

There were two people on each motorcycle. All four people were ejected from the motorcycles.

The driver of the chopper was identified as 55-year-old Ricky Miller of Gunnison. He was wearing eye protection but no helmet. Miller was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The passenger of the chopper, 47-year-old Tracey Miller of Gunnison, was wearing a helmet and sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the Harley Davidson, 34-year-old Miah Miller, also sustained serious injuries.

Ashley Sexton, a 29-year-old San Pedro, Calif., resident, sustained minor injuries.

Both directions of the highway were closed for several hours during an investigation.
