Farm Bill Receives Bipartisan Support

by KREX News Room
by Kristina Kuestner

WASHINGTON- The U.S. Senate has passed a farm bill, which officials hope will strengthen conservation and support Colorado farmers, ranchers and sportsmen.

The bill secures several provisions to improve agriculture and conservation programs important to Colorado's rural communities.

It consolidates the number of programs and allows more landowners and producers to enter into easements.

U.S. Senator Michael Bennet crafted the bill with input he received from the farm bill listening sessions he held across Colorado.

The bill passed with bipartisan support in a 64-35 vote.

It now heads to the House.
