Famous Dave’s BBQ to Offer Free Food During ‘Dave’s Day’

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A popular chain restaurant is celebrating everything "Dave" this weekend.

This Sunday, Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que is honoring its founder, Dave Anderson, during the fourth annual "Dave's Day.” Restaurants are offering anyone with the first name of Dave, David or Davy a free entree at all Colorado locations.

In previous years more than 4,500 Daves participated in the celebration statewide. They're expecting over 2,000 this year.

"Just strictly to celebrate all Daves and to say thank you to all of our regular customers,” said Shawna Shakespear, general manager at Famous Dave’s in Grand Junction. “They ask about it all year round, ‘When's Dave's Day, when's Dave's Day?’ so it’s a big hubbub around town. They all look forward to coming in and it’s a great time in the restaurant. “

Anyone who has a middle name that is a version of Dave can also participate and receive an entree for half the price.

All Daves must bring a valid identification with them. The only Famous Dave's in Grand Junction is by the Mesa Mall, located at 2440 Highway 6 and 50.
