Elections Office Conducts Logic and Accuracy Test

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Officials from the Mesa County Elections Department were hard at work Wednesday morning, making sure each vote will count.

In order to ensure their voting equipment is counting votes properly before ballots go out, the office is required to test the equipment at least three times before every election.

Officials from the office have already conducted a maintenance test and internal test, and after Wednesday can add the public and accuracy logic test to that list.

“It’s important for us to do this so we can sleep at night,” said Sheila Reiner, Mesa County clerk and recorder. “It helps us make sure that everything is in order, the machines are programmed and operating properly.”

Ballots go out in the mail on Oct. 15, and after this year's election, officials will do a post audit test on the machines.

Why do we trust our very republic with folks who cannot even handle registering a single brand new vehicle with an M.S.O? It would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic.
