GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- In an effort to provide relief to those who have been affected by the recent wildfires in Colorado, one local education supply store is opening its wallet.

Officials from Learning Works say they love their Western Colorado community, and when they saw the fire burning in their own backyard, they wanted to do something to help.

“You got to support your community and your neighbors and that's the state of Colorado, and we believe in the state of Colorado,” said Christy Prickett, co-owner of Learning Works. "We want to support everyone in the state and the firefighters who have taken so much time and effort to fight these fires and save the homes they have been able to and the towns.”

Owners of the craft store have collaborated with the American Red Cross to provide the relief. They will be donating 10 percent of their gross profit from all sales starting on Thursday and going though Saturday.

Learning Works is located at 1938 N. First Street and is open from 9 a.m to 7 p.m.

All purchases during these dates will also qualify for a $50 gift certificate to Learning Works.
