GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Mesa County Sheriff's Office and Crime Stoppers of Mesa County teamed up to give parents guidelines on how to safeguard their computers and smart phones.

There were also tips on how to talk to children about online dangers and warn them about people who are waiting to take advantage of kids' trust.

"It's a problem here just like it is anywhere else," said Chad Williams with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. "We have those active cases on our investigators' case loads everyday, so they're going to be working these cases all the time, and it's just the nature of what we see these days."

If you missed the class Tuesday night, you can visit www.MesaCountySafeKids.com and click on "Internet Safety."

There you'll find social networking tips and helpful suggestions on dealing with cyber bullying, cyber security, sexting and more.
