Domestic Violence Shelter Recieves Big Grant

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Grand Junction's domestic violence shelter is receiving a big help in funding today with a $20 thousand grant.
The money has been sent from the Mary Kay foundation.
Hilltop's Latimer house previously applied for the grant, and organizers say this will be a huge help in keeping their program running.
"In a year’s time, we service over 300 families or 300 individuals… That's men, women and children. We service thousands of crisis line calls," says Latimer House program coordinator Karla Kitzman.
The grant is unique because it doesn't have many strings attached and the money can go where coordinators see fit.
The Latimer house says this comes at a very good time, since they say crisis line calls are up, with seven hundred forty-two calls in July alone.
