District 51 Seeking Input From Public On Calendar Options

by KREX News Room
by Kristina Kuestner

MESA COUNTY, Colo.- District 51 is considering several long term changes to its school calendar, but they want to hear from the public before making a decision.

The Board of Education is looking at several options including a traditional calendar, a four-day calendar and an extended five-day calendar with some variations of each theme.

The Board of Education and District 51 Administration invite the public to attend an open house to learn more about each option, the considerations taken into account when designing the calendars and to give feedback on the impacts each option would have on the community.

The open houses will be Thursday, Jan. 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m at a number of schools. Those include Shelledy Elementary School, Pomona Elementary School, Bookcliff Middle School and Palisade High School.

Most successful calendars I see are usually of a block design with multiple squares to represent the days. At the top put the month, year, and days of the week and in the blocks put the numbers. A picture at the top is optional. Glad I could help.
