Grand Junction District 51 Superintendent Steven Schultz hosted the annual luncheon to honor exceptional high school students in the valley.
102 high school seniors were honored for achieveing a 4.0 cumulative GPA or better over the course of their high school career.
District 51 started the program to both recognize these students, as well as challenge other students to strive for academic excellence.
Andrea Goddeyne, a senior from Palisade High School, is thankful all of her hard work paid off.
"It feels great to be recognized," said Goddeyne. "I put a lot of hard work into the last four years, and had a lot of missed social events for this. So I like that I'm finally getting a little thumbs up."
Former Fruita Monument High School graduate and Founder of the Colorado Leadership Network, Brian Watson, was the keynote speaker for the luncheon.
