Denver International Airport's Blue Horse Up for Debate

by KREX News Room
by Meaghan Wallace

DENVER, The fate of the big blue horse at Denver International Airport is up for debate.

Monday, the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs and City Art representatives will discuss whether to keep the statue or move it somewhere else.

The contract has expired for the 32-foot tall piece of public art, which some people love and others hate, especially its glowing red eyes at night.

According to KCNC, the horse was purchased for $600,000 and is now valued at nearly $2 million. That could be used as an argument to relocate the horse.

I LOVE the horse and hope he stays put. But how about turning his red eyes orange? Then he's an orange-and-blue Bronco, and who in Denver doesn't love that

I like Bluecifer the horse. If Denver doesn't want it move it to Main Street in Grand Junction to keep Car-Bumper buffalo company.

Can they not just put in black eyes and add a little grey and black paint to tone it down a bit? Seems like a waste of money to move it. And it is a beautiful statue. I can't imagine that anyone would take issue with it if it didn't have those devil eyes.
