Delta Bans Marijuana Shops

DELTA, Colo. - On Tuesday night the city of Delta made the final approval to ban the commercial selling of marijuana, an act prompted by the passing of Amendment 64.

The moratorium, which went through its second and final reading Tuesday, halts the approval on any applications for licenses to sell the plant within city limits.

The ban will go into effect in 30 days and lasts for nine months. The moratorium's life span butts up against the July 2013 deadline that the city has to adopt a final plan for marijuana shops in Delta, per Amendment 64.

In November's election, 60 percent of city residents voted against the controversial amendment, which prompted city officials to pass the moratorium as quickly as possible.

Concerned citizen, is a fringe few 55% of the State vote? Is a fringe few over 2 million Colorado voters? Is a fringe few 6000 out of 13000 votes cast in Delta County? Give me a break, you are in total denial of reality. Suffering from a little mental illness now are we Concerned citizen!

Amendment 64 was passed by a fringe few from the eastern slope. This was the same group who lied to everyone about "Medicinal Marijuana." it's about time to see a town stand up. All we need to do now is get enough supporters to place an amendment banning marijuana again. If something isn't done it wont stop with marijuana.

What would you expect from the crappiest little town around? They don't respect the will of the people of Colorado, they think because it lost in Delta by a few thousand votes that nobody should be able to purchase cannabis even though the State says it's legal. They did the same thing with medical cannabis leaving hundreds of Delta County State card holders nowhere to buy the meds! Booze good.... Explosives good... harmless plant bad.. Delta, unbelievable!

Prohibition puts all of us in danger. It inflates the value of a plant you can grow in your own yard, making it worth so much that people are willing to steal it or kill for it, just so they can sell it. Does that happen with carrots or asparagus? Of course not, because those plants aren't illegal. The police lobby for prohibition because they get big bonus money every time they arrest a harmless marijuana user whether it is used for medicine or recreation. The cops don't really care about our safety as long as they are getting paid, just like private prisons and substance abuse counselors. Marijuana is harmless, prohibition kills. Prohibition will kill you, tear your family apart, give your kids away to some loving Sandusky, murder your pets, steal all your property, and enriches street gangs and cartels.
