GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.
Oct. 1 marks the deadline for all employers to notify employees of the new health insurance mandate and the open enrollment of Connect for Health Colorado's marketplace.
The Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce is spreading word about the new paperwork, and says any business with at least one part-time employee must comply.
The form outlines what's available for employees in terms of a marketplace they can buy insurance and what they are eligible for.
This applies to all businesses, regardless of whether or not they offer insurance.
Diane Schwenke, president and CEO of the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce, believes the vast majority of local businesses still need to hand out these forms to employees, "We've talked about it for about the last week, it was mentioned in our quarterly luncheon, we have sent out emails. But sitting in committee meetings where this has come up, we still have a larger number, the not, that go, 'oh, I wasn't aware of that.'"
Employers can get the forms to employees via email or handing it to them in person. They cannot simply post the form online.
