by Danielle Kreutter

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Friday night kicks off the start of the "Heat is On" crackdown enforced by the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Colorado State Patrol.

CSP made 447 DUI arrests during last year's Halloween crackdown.

They say October is one of the deadliest months for alcohol-related crashes, and they want drivers to make smart decisions while going to and from Halloween festivities.

The crackdown will begin at 6 p.m. Friday and last until 3 a.m. Nov. 1.
