DENVER- The Denver International Airport is receiving some much needed funding to repair one of its runways.

According the Denver Post, $7 million is heading to DIA to repair the north-south runway on the terminal's east side.

The grant is part of the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill.

Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., who helped pass the bill through the Senate, praised the announcement in a press release, saying that the grant "will keep DIA as a major economic driver for the Denver-metro region and the state".

The $7 million will cover just more than 20 percent of the approximately $30 million runway project.

Sen Bennet? Didn't he vote yes on the Obummercare travesty that was snuck through under cover of darkness and holiday by democrats on Christmas Eve, 2009?
