GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.- Fire crews took a moment on Friday to remember one of deadliest fires in Colorado history.

Eighteen years ago, 14 firefighters were killed in a fire on Storm King Mountain near Glenwood Springs. It was called the South Canyon Fire.

Strong winds pushed the fire uphill and firefighters could not escape it.

David Boyd, a spokesman for the Bureau of Land Management, said firefighters took a moment of silence Friday to remember the anniversary of the tragedy.
