GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo.- Officials made significant progress Friday containing a wildfire in Garfield County.

Firefighters reached 60 percent containment on the fire near Highway 13, despite a red flag warning earlier in the day.

Crews were able to secure the fire perimeter for the second day in a row, and firefighters held it to 991 acres.

The fire is burning 15 miles north of Rifle on Bureau of Land Management land.

Fire investigators have not been able to pinpoint the precise cause of the fire, but they believe it was human-caused.
