Crash Sends One to the Hospital

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. For the second night in a row a pedestrian is sent hospital after being struck by a car on North Ave.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department, around 7 p.m. Thursday night a man was struck by a pickup while he was jaywalking on North Ave. just east of the old City Market building.

This is the second pedestrian-car accident that's occurred in the neighborhood in the past two days.

On Wednesday a woman was struck by an oncoming vehicle on North Ave. near the Walmart. She was also jaywalking.

Both pedestrians were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say pedestrian-car accidents like this aren't common in that area.

I watch so called parents run across North Ave with their children on a daily basis. Many times a cross walk is just yards away. One day it is going to be someone's child who gets hit instead of the stupid adult who should know better. The poor person who hits them has to deal with that for life. Several years ago, a friends so hit someone running across North down by the golf course.

The handle needs to be pulled at least 3 times to clean up the gene pool! And after reading and listening to other news 3 times might not be enough. Some think Stupid is a hobby!
