GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- One special couple is walking across the country to make a difference for the country's pets.

Since March 1, the two have walked more than 2,200 miles from Delaware to Grand Junction and hope to end up in San Fransisco by November.

They are walking coast-to-coast to raise awareness of pet therapy and rescue.

Along the way they've been stopping at nursing homes and veteran hospitals, as well as volunteering.

"There are benefits to having pet therapy and animal therapy. We've had several facilities that we've visited contact us afterward, and say it was really great and the residents, kids or the clients really responded to the dogs," said John Seyal, pet awareness advocate and walker.

They are walking with their two dogs as well as a third dog that joined them in Ohio.

They have a support car if the dogs get tired.
