LAKE GEORGE, Colo.- Firefighters have reached 57 percent containment of the Springer Fire.

The blaze is located northwest of Colorado Springs near Lake George.

More than 500 personnel are fighting the flames.

As of Thursday afternoon, the Springer Fire had burned around 1,145 acres.

Wednesday's cold front brought higher humidity and lower temperatures, which helped firefighters make progress.

The blaze is burning through ponderosa pines and grass, in areas of steep terrain.

No structures have been damaged and two people have received minor injuries.
