Consumers Counting on Cyber Monday for Good Deals

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - If you didn't get in on all the action on Black Friday - not to worry! Cyber Monday is the day online stores offer big discounts to holiday shoppers.

Research firm ComScore suggests it will be a big online success, with Americans expected to spend $1.5 billion, up 20 percent from last year.

This season, retailers have ramped up their deals to get shoppers to click on their websites and it's already been a big success.

NewsChannel 5 hit the streets to see if you plan on participating in Monday's deals..

"I'm hoping to find some good snowboarding deals," said Jesse Brooke.

"I got up this morning and purchased a few things, I got some prints online that were 40 percent off for some family members," said Jennifer Chisholm.

A record 247 million people visited stores and websites over the Thanksgiving weekend. That's up more than 9 percent over last year.

Overall, Americans have already spent an estimated $59 billion on holiday gifts.
