GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Just in time for the warmer season, the city of Grand Junction is giving kids across the valley another place to play.
After months of work, the city celebrated the completion of phase one and two of Lincoln Park.
The new construction includes additional concrete trails in and around the park, the removal of the loop road, an education walk around the park.
And of course the fully accessible playground.
“We have ramp systems on two of the play structures and we have ground level activities,” said Traci Wieland, recreation superintendent. “There are some scenery activities, and there’s everything you would want for kids of all ages and abilities to be able to play.”
Eleven different organizations supported this project and the city also received a $250,000 grant from the Great Outdoors Colorado.
