GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Representative Scott Tipton spoke at the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce Thursday to update business leaders on current legislation in Congress and get feedback to take to Washington.
Members of the Grand Valley had the chance to ask the congressman questions about tough topics like unrolling the Affordable Healthcare Act and the recent shutdown in Washington.
Tipton also addressed the problem of job loss in Grand Junction when one chamber member stated that we've lost 8,000 jobs since 2009.
Tipton made sure to emphasize that he too started as a small businessman, and understands the struggles we face.
When asked if there will be another shutdown in Washington in January, Tipton said he is "living on hope" that it won't happen again.
