by KREX News Room
by Meaghan Wallace

Congressman Scott Tipton is doing some damage control. He's written a letter apologizing to the House ethics officers on behalf of his daughter.

Tipton's 22-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, sent emails trying to drum up business for her employer. She works for Broadnet, Inc., a telephone conference provider that serves members of Congress.

Elizabeth Tipton sent emails to some lawmakers that mentioned her father.

Tipton said in his letter that the use of his name was "improper" and said it wouldn't happen again.
