GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Southwest Firebreather CrossFit National Championship took place over the weekend at Stocker Stadium. Athletes from five states competed for glory.

Joining the Colorado athletes were competitors from Nevada, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico.

CrossFit is a form of sports fitness where people perform difficult tasks ranging from gymnastics to weightlifting. They are either timed or are given a time frame to do as much work as possible.

Director of the National FireBreather Championship Brett Lark said, "At any age you can do these workouts, so someone that's 65 on a daily basis is going into their gym and can do this workout and does this workout."

Natalie Mclain, who won first place in the women's division, said, "When you go into the gym and you work your hardest, and if you can get through that workout that is just so hard, and you gave it your all, when you run into problems in life it feels like it's nothing.
