DELTA, Colo.- A competition between two Delta gas stations is helping drivers keep the green in their wallets.

Due to a new gas station opening, there's been some competing gas prices on the corner of First Street and Highway 50, in Delta.

Customers say the Maverik gas station opened up Jan. 23, and Friday, the price dropped to $2.24.

Bradley Sinclair, across the street is also at the same price.

Customers say they think Bradley Sinclair is trying to compete with the Maverik gas station.

"A guy inside was telling me that it's suppose to get down to $1.99 before all of this is over, a gallon, so yeah, I'm pretty stoked," said Jimmy Williams, resident.

The gas stations would not discuss why the price was so low.

Residents say the Maverik and Bradley Sinclair are the only two gas stations in Delta where the price of gas is $2.24.
