Community Supports HomewardBound at Annual Fundraiser

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. HomewardBound's ninth annual Journey Home Signature Fundraising Event was held at the Mesa County Fairgrounds community room Saturday evening.

The event featured a silent and live auction, all items generously donated by the community. Attendees also enjoyed live music and dancing.

Board member Roxanne Green said, "This community is so generous. We have beautiful pieces of art, we've got weekend getaways."

Officials say money raised Saturday is instrumental for the organization's operations, allowing them to offer shelter to folks for about $12 a night.
