GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Hundreds of people packed the Center for Independence in Grand Junction to learn how to get involved with helping the Grand Valley.
Around 20 local organizations focusing on issues including human rights, a healthy environment and diversity set up shop for the open house.
Organizers say it's a great change to expose some of the local groups that are looking for volunteers.
"For a non-profit like the Hispanic Affairs Project, it means a lot because it reminds us that we have allies, other people in the community who really want to work to make the Grand Valley a better place to live for everyone," said Nicole Bernal Ruiz with the Hispanic Affairs Project.
The fair also showcased groups that support cultural activities in the area including bikes, local foods and arts.
