Commissioners Deny Funding for Glenwood Springs Planned Parenthood

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.-The Glenwood Springs Planned Parenthood will not be receiving funding from Garfield County.

According to the Post Independent, commissioners voted 2-1 to remove $5,000 in funding for the Planned Parenthood Clinic in Glenwood Springs.

Commissioner Chairman John Martin voted against the funding saying the national organization has enough outside resources and local money could be used to benefit smaller organizations.

The Planned Parenthood grant was just one of more than $430,000 in human service grants recommended to the commissioners for 2013.
