Colorado's Legislative Session Begins

by KREX News Room

DENVER (AP)- The Colorado House of Representatives opened the 2013 legislative session Wednesday with some new changes.

Colorado's first openly gay House Speaker, Democratic Representative Mark Ferrandino, opened Wednesday's session.

With the Democrats in control of the Senate, this means after two years of divided government and limited agendas, the legislature is set to see lots of legislation that's favored by Democrats. This includes civil unions for same-sex couples, tuition changes for illegal immigrants, and expanding medicaid.
