Colorado Senate Debates Labor Proposals

by KREX News Room
by Jordan Sherman

DENVER The Colorado Senate is expected to debate numerous labor bills Wednesday afternoon.

One measure up for discussion would make Colorado a "Right-to-Work" state. That bill would outlaw employers from requiring union membership.

The other proposal would require cities and towns to allow collective bargaining by professional firefighters.

If both bills are approved by committee, they would have to pass the entire Senate and House before reaching Governor Hickenlooper's desk.
