Colorado National Monument Status Change Put on Hold

FRUITA, Colo.- Sen. Mark Udall's office has confirmed that after hearing community feedback, the decision has been made not to bring a bill to congress regarding the status change of the Colorado National Monument.

"Had we found that the community was very much in favor of it, then we would have certainly recommended that and passed that on to both the senator as well as Congressman Tipton, and likewise if they were very much against it we would have told them that, but we didn't find that," said Ken Henry, a member of the Colorado National Monument Committee.

The committee that was gathering feedback has been put on hold for the time being, but Sen. Udall's office says they do plan on keeping discussions open.
