Colorado Discover Ability Holds Chef's Dinner Fundraiser
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Colorado Discover Ability held its annual Chef's Dinner Friday night, benefiting disabled children, adults and veterans through outdoor recreation. The dinner and silent auction-filled evening is one of the nonprofit's premier fundraisers throughout the year. Officials say without the support of the community's donations as well as the generosity of local wineries and chefs, the organization wouldn't be around. "It costs a lot of money for adaptive equipment. So, we use this money to buy equipment and pay staff," said the organization's treasurer, Donna Iovanni. This year's theme was Derby Day and the main auction featured a trip to the Belmont Stakes in New York. Officials say 240 tickets were sold this year.
