DENVER - A powerful snowstorm moving through Colorado has forced the cancellation of about 100 flights at Denver International Airport.
It also led transportation officials to close several roads, including Interstate 70 from Denver to Kansas.
The northbound lanes of Interstate 25 near Johnstown south of Fort Collins were closed because of multiple accidents, including a tractor-trailer that crashed and burst into flames. An estimated 20 to 50 vehicles crashed or slid off the roadway in the area.
Further west, both eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Vail Pass were closed at different times, due to multiple accidents.
Eastbound and westbound lanes were also shut down on I-70 in various places between Glenwood Springs and Glenwood Canyon Saturday afternoon after multiple crashes.
