DENVER- The Tuition Bill will be up for debate Thursday as a Senate committee listens to testimony.

As of right now, Democrats have the votes to give the bill initial approval, however the bill would still need to pass through the Senate.

Republicans argue the proposal raises the issue of fairness, claiming immigrants would be receiving a benefit citizens don't get.

However, Democrats say the state of Colorado has already invested in the immigrants public education and this bill would give them a chance to attend schools at an affordable rate.

Immigrants enrolled now pay a tuition rate three times higher than the in state rate.
