Senate Committee Listens to Tuition Bill Testimony

by KREX News Room
by Jordan Sherman

DENVER- The Tuition Bill will be up for debate Thursday as a Senate committee listens to testimony.

As of right now, Democrats have the votes to give the bill initial approval, however the bill would still need to pass through the Senate.

Republicans argue the proposal raises the issue of fairness, claiming immigrants would be receiving a benefit citizens don't get.

However, Democrats say the state of Colorado has already invested in the immigrants public education and this bill would give them a chance to attend schools at an affordable rate.

Immigrants enrolled now pay a tuition rate three times higher than the in state rate.

What's the point of the charade? The voters have spoken on both the tuition issue and the civil unions issue. We made our feelings very clear, but something happens when one is elected to office. The Elected Ones are suddenly imbued with superior intelligence, they become 6 inches taller, their jokes get funnier, and they become morally superior to everyone else. One of these days soon this is going to come to a head, and when it does I want to be the owner of the local tar-and-feathers franchise.

Anything to push the liberal agenda. Why do they even go through the voting process?
