CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Coloradans have played an important role at this year's DNC.

Gov. John Hickenlooper addressed the audience in a six-minute speech Wednesday with an endorsement for President Barack Obama.

Gov. Hickenlooper cited the president's help in a year of tragedy for Colorado that included deadly wildfires, drought and the Aurora theater shooting.

Other Coloradans in attendance included Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, who spoke on stage during the first day of the Democratic National Convention, as well as Rep. Jared Polis, who also spoke during day one.
