DENVER- Colorado is joining in on Sandy's recovery efforts.

According to KCNC in Denver, 38 Xcel Energy employees in 22 trucks left from Denver to head to Charleston, W. Va.

Superstorm Sandy crossed paths with blizzard-like conditions, dumping several feet of snow there.

Trees and power lines were knocked down, leaving more than 300,000 people without power.

"A lot of poles need to be reset, wires to restring. You're almost building a redistribution center from scratch for Charleston, West Virginia," explained Mark Stutz with Xcel Energy.

It will take the crews about three days to make the 1,300-mile journey.

They'll likely be there for at least three weeks.
