SALT LAKE CITY- A Whitewater woman is recovering, after being shot in the face by a deputy following a high-speed pursuit in northern Utah.
According to authorities, Kristine Nicole Biggs, 41, started the 30-mile chase by speeding away from police late Sunday night after they tried to pull her pickup over for a broken headlight.
Officials say after driving over spike strips in Morgan County, Biggs flipped around and rammed into two sheriff's deputies' vehicles.
She ignored calls to get out of her car, leading to a deputy firing once at her windshield.
Biggs is in critical condition, but is expected to survive.
No law-enforcement officers were injured in the incident.
Authorities say she has an arrest warrant in Colorado for failure to comply with judges orders, likely stemming from charges related to an incident in a state park in July 2011.
