Colo. Senator Addresses Delayed Veterans Benefits

by KREX News Room
by Associated Press

DENVER- A U.S. lawmaker says the VA has been late in paying education benefits to scores of Colorado veterans, and he's asking the department to find a remedy.

According to Sen. Michael Bennet, 141 vets have told him that the Department of Veterans Affairs has been late in paying benefits under a half-dozen education programs.

A Bennet spokesperson says that members of a panel who advise the senator on veterans matters originally raised the issue.

Bennet's office then sent questionnaires to veterans at about 20 Colorado colleges and universities in September asking about problems with benefits payments.

The senator has sent a letter to the VA secretary about the delays.

Maybe he should take a swing at the incompetence of the people that are paid money to help vets with their claims.

Bennet? Didn't he vote yes on the travesty known as Obummercare that was snuck through by democrat cowards under cover of darkness and holiday on Christmas Eve, 2009?

@disgusted. You call the democrats cowards? It is the people who sign the petitions for secession that are the cowards. We suffered under the Bush Jr. administration without talk of quitting the union, and you people can't handle another 4 years of someone trying to fix the mess Bush Jr. made? That makes you the coward. Not just that, but check the laws regarding sedition. Just keep in mind that the US military is part of the union, and if you leave this union then you will no longer have the protection of the military. Also keep in mind if any soldier signs that petition they are going to be in a LOT of trouble. So yes, you might be disgusted with our current leaders, but to act like you do is cowardice and childish.

Ah Micah, it has been 1394 days since Bush was in office. However, if you want to talk of a mess, I can sum it up in one word. Benghazi. Perhaps rather than talk of a succession that will never happen you should review that fiasco and ask yourself what the Navy Seal was doing before his demise? I'll give you a very important clue....Why did a Navy Seal voluntarily reveal his position to an enemy combatant and wind up being killed by doing so? Find the answer to that question and you have found the answer to the true scandal. Oh, also you might want to check Military budgets Bush vs Obummer, while you are at it. B.T.W, I haven't signed a secession petition, thanks for asking.
