Colo. National Monument Officials Gathering Input

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Wednesday was the final listening session put on by Colorado National Monument officials, to open up dialogue about the park.
Officials were hoping to learn what commercial and visitor activities are most desired, and appropriate, for the Monument.
They also wanted to give people a better idea of national park laws.
"One table for instance is able special park uses, another is the role of the National Park Service and for instance perhaps learning about the difference between the National Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management as our missions are very different," said Lisa Eckert, Superintendent for the Colorado National Monument.
A total feedback report will be compiled by a third party which will be released in early autumn.
That will be available on the Monument's website at NPS.gov/COLM
