DENVER- It may not be a surprise to some, but last week's (Nov. 25- Dec. 1) record breaking Powerball helped bring in the highest sales week in Colorado Lottery history.

An average sales week for the game is roughly $10 million, but last week, the Lottery sold $22 million.

Scratch sales for the week totaled more than $6.8 million. That's up more than $400,000 from the previous week.

Total sales in Colorado for the historic Powerball drawing were $12.63 million from Sunday, Nov. 25 through Wednesday, Nov. 28. Total Powerball sales in Colorado for Wednesday alone were $8.38 million. Average weekly Powerball sales in Colorado are only $1.5 million.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery games stay in Colorado to improve local programs and communities. The Lottery has returned more than $2.4 billion to the state of Colorado since it was established.
