Colo. Lawmakers Debating Over Gun Control Measures

by KREX News Room

DENVER (AP)- Colorado lawmakers are debating over controversial gun control measures.

A Republican bill to allow teachers to carry concealed weapons in Colorado schools was defeated in a Senate Committee, with Democrats dismissing arguments it would make children safer from massacres like the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

Democrats say they are still planning to pursue gun control measures including expanded background checks for gun purchases and a possible statewide assault-weapons ban.

Gov. John Hickenlooper has called on lawmakers to expand background checks, while other democrats were pushing for more expansive control including assault-weapon bans or ammunition limits.

The bill on background checks goes much further. Under its provisions it is illegal to lend a firearm to a friend or Inlaw unless the owner is with them. Contact your represtative before Mondays Vote of record.

I am okay with the conduct, it is the accuracy that I am concerned with. Any organization that cannot handle the mundane task of providing licenses to vehicles should not be anywhere near an election!

Gun Control? How about politician control? Who does the most damage to our state?

If Colorado doesn't pry their state government out of the Democrat's greedy little paws, it is going to end up on the "death spiral" list with California and the rest of the "Progressive" states.

There is no need for any type of gun control.
