Colo. Lawmaker Sponsoring Gun Bills Gets Threats

DENVER (AP) - Denver police have arrested a man suspected of threatening a Democratic state lawmaker who's sponsoring gun bills to expand background checks and limit the size of ammunition magazines.

Police say 42-year-old Franklin Sain was arrested Friday on suspicion of harassment and attempting to influence a public official. He's been released on $30,000 bail.

Police say Sain is suspected of sending emails and leaving a voicemail for Rep. Rhonda Fields. An arrest affidavit says Fields received a letter telling her ``There Will Be Blood!''

The Colorado State Patrol says it's providing extra security for Fields, who represents the district where the theater shooting happened last summer.

Fields said Monday she won't be deterred by threats.

Sain is chief operating officer for Englewood-based SofTec Solutions. He didn't return a call seeking comment.

Next stop, the FEMA re-education camp! Poor man thought that he had a right to an opinion.

Hey stupid, it's illegal to yell 'fire' in a crowded theater, just as it is illegal to threaten someone.

Asia, Disgusted doesn't have the courage to identify himself so his ignorant remarks are those of a coward.

Oh dear, I have once again upset Dillard by being critical of his saviour Barry. Such a shame......

I save myself Disgusted, you don't upset anyone. Again, at least I have the courage to identify myself and you do not. I view all self-serving politicians with equal distain.

The guy threatened the child. That isn't right. If he just threatened the Rep that is one thing. Problem here is that gun control won't stop anything. The background check thing is bullsh*t too. Until the check shows if someone was treated for mental illness then the background checks won't do any good. So they can ban all the guns they want and it won't stop the mentally ill people unless the laws pertaining to HIPPA change. No one wants to hear that though.

This is typical to the way in which these people operate.I have been harassed by gun rights proponents at my previous place of employment. There is nothing that can shame these people. This goes beyond the first amendment rights of these individuals. The actual reason people like this own guns is because they are hyper defensive. What is wrong with limiting the size of ammunition magazines? If they haven't checked it is not included in their second amendment rights dispite what they might believe.

Sour grapes from sour people. It is okay to threaten a Republican and call their candidates names because they are Republicans, correct? Did George Bush receive any threats? Was there a movie made that portrayed his assassination? How was Sarah Palin treated? Yet when the threat doesn't originate from the kind, compassionate progressives all of a sudden it is a crime. B.T.W, did that fellow who made the video that caused Benghazi ever get released? Just wondering......

Checkmate once again. This is too easy.
