DENVER (AP)- Illegal immigrants are a step closer to being granted in-state tuition in Colorado.

A bill that grants illegal immigrants the same tuition rate as legal state residents advanced in the Colorado House Wednesday.

The House Education Committee passed the bill on a 9-4 vote, with two Republicans voting with Democrats.

Both parties have blocked the bill in previous years.

This year, the bill is expected to become law.

Doesn't the term 'immigrant' indicate they are from out of state?
