Club 20 to Host 2013 Summer Policy Committee Meeting

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- This week, officials from Club 20 are getting ready for their Summer Policy Committee meeting.
Members from 22 counties, throughout the Western Slope, will collect and make recommendations about policies and issues that may cause for concerns across western Colorado.
These comments will be presented to the board of directors, who will provide direction on what must be done.
“We get the right people in to talk about what the issue is,” said Bonnie Petersen, executive director of Club 20. “We see how does hits issue impact western Colorado and what stance should western Colorado take on this issue.”
There are 10 standing committees that will be discussing several different topics. Some are listen below:
Business Affairs: Immigration Reform Bill and Enterprise Zones
Health Care: Local changes in health care
Telecom: Broadband issues in rural areas
Transportation: Revenue for maintenance of roads
Water: Comprehensive water plan by 2015
