GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Community leaders from 20 different counties are coming together on Wednesday, to discuss major issues on the Western Slope.

Officials are gathering for Club 20's Winter Policy Committee Meeting.

The members are discussing the proposed changes made to Enterprise Zones, which are programs that helps create business friendly environments in economically distressed areas.

The group is also looking further into where the state will be going with the sage grouse issue, and talking to the BLM about their Resource Management Plan.

“We want to get an idea of what's happening from a business standpoint, with regard to legislation and we will ultimately decide if we should take action,” said Bonnie Petersen, executive director of Club 20. “Then Club 20 will then take action if necessary.”

The leaders will also meet on Thursday to discuss public lands and natural resources, as well as the energy industry.

The meetings are open to the public and are held at Ute Water District Office.
