Glenwood Springs Striving to Keep Housing Development Strong

by KREX News Room
by Jordan Sherman

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.- The City of Glenwood Springs is striving to keep it's housing market strong by continuing the suspension of a rule allowing builders to construct homes outside of an "affordability" standard.

The City of Glenwood Springs was requiring 15 percent of new houses in new residential neighborhoods meet the standard.

However, the past two years, the rules were suspended in an effort to spur building activity following a downturn in the real estate market because of the economy.
