MONTROSE, Colo.-The Montrose Association of Commerce and Tourism held a 100 year celebration of the Montrose Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Depot. The depot is home to the Montrose County Historical Museum.

The depot has served as a transportation and economic hub for the city. On Saturday, folks toured the museum and learned about its role in the community.

Zilla May Brown, president of the Montrose historical society, said, "This building has served this community in many ways for well over 100 years. It currently belongs to the City of Montrose and it's continuing its service as a museum."

The museum closes in the winter due to the old building not being insulated, so tours are only available in the summer. The museum is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m and Saturdays 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
